AFFILIATION AND BELIEF
Rev. Michelle Wiltshire-Clement found and chose to hold dear the philosophy and ethical influences of the United Church of Christ (UCC). She was seeking a denomination that was based on the ideals of the Scriptures, justice driven, and filled with God-fearing believers who intelligently read the primary text of the Bible with present day compassion and sensibilities. She chose to accept the UCC’s Constitution and By Laws since it is inclusive and able to adapt to God’s evolving world.
“The United Church of Christ is and seeks to be an inclusive, multiracial, multicultural church, accessible to all, engaging in ministries of justice, witness, healing, teaching, and preaching.”
~In the UCC Bylaws, Article XII of Covenanted Ministries

WEDDINGS
PREMARITAL COUNSELING
In a mutually decided upon setting, you will be asked a series of questions that you may not have thought about to ask your beloved. Therefore, during this time, space is given for courageous conversations to occur.
REHEARSAL
Rehearsing on a day or the day before the ceremony lessens the possibilities of the unexpected confusion. The larger the wedding party, the more prepared you all would be with a wedding rehearsal. Questions that you may not have thought of could be asked.

TYPE OF CEREMONIES
Before you say your vows, how do you want to promise that you will stay by your beloved’s side? Yes, the basic ceremony is the exchange of vows and the signing of the marriage certificate and then there is the Traditional, Interfaith, Customized, and Vow Renewal!
Traditional
The traditional ceremony includes the basic with words a selection of a Scripture reading and an uplifting message/ sermonette/homily. If Communion is requested as part of the Service the run time may be 45 minutes. (The run time adding two readers, sermonette, the lighting of the Trinity candle, blessing, and married couple walking down the aisle is about 30 minutes.)
Interfaith
Combine the above traditional with faith based practices that the couple would like to combine.
Customized
What is your favorite poem? Would you like to write your own vows? This is a joint effort. However, a back up plan is always good to have!

VOW RENEWAL
Traditional or personalized words for your rededication of marriage vow ceremony are available. When you have spent time together as partners, you know how precious your relationship is. During a vow renewal ceremony, you can share with your partner, family, and friends that you are still in love and will continue to grow together with your beloved.
BAPTISMS
What values do you want your child to learn? As an adult, do you want to dedicate yourself to actively maturing into a spiritual person that is kind and compassionate? “Baptism is both God’s gift and our human response to that gift.” It is “a sign and seal of our common discipleship. Through baptism, Christians are brought into union with Christ, with each other and with the church of every time and place.” ~ Baptism, Eucharist, and Ministry, Faith and Order Paper No. 111 (Geneva: World Council of Churches, 1982). Through the dedication of baptism, one is on the path of spiritual maturity. Baptisms for both infants and adults are available at various spaces.

RITES OF PASSAGE
Do you have a young person who you would like to celebrate their coming of age into adulthood? Would you like to celebrate revealing the real you? Have you reunited with a loved one? Have you adopted a child? Here Rev. Michelle can aid to create and facilitate Rites of Passage ceremonies for individuals, couples, and families that can be either grand or intimate celebrations.
